The rescuer must be certain he does not risk electric shock himself.
The rescuer must:
● Turn off the electricity supply if possible.
● Disconnect the victim from the electricity supply by the use of a dry non-conducting material, e.g. dry cloth, a wooden stick.
● Avoid any direct contact with the skin of the patient or any conducting material touching him until he is disconnected.
● Commence resuscitation. Use cardiopulmonary resuscitation if patient’s heart has stopped beating and you have been trained.
● Seek medical help.
